Lockwoods, one of the largest meat manufacturers in the North West commissioned us to design its new branding and packaging identity with the goal of shifting it’s products in a more commercial, consumer friendly direction.
The business, which produces meat products such as pies, sausages, sausages rolls and scotch eggs has a deep rooted history being established in 1948 with three generations of butchers directing the company. From this the new name ‘Maddock’s’ was chosen reflecting its historic roots, even with the name change the new packaging still nods to its old ‘Lockwoods’ name with a small Lockwoods tag on each sleeve.
“Our new brand look is already having the desired impact. Our sales are tripling and we are even selling out in some stores.”
– Ian Maddock, Director Maddock
In addition to the brand and packaging, Maddocks asked us to provide new photography for their e commerce website. Over 50 products from the Maddocks range where photographed and styled.
Maddocks launched its new range of sausages direct to consumers early April with flavours The Lockwood, The Lancelot, The Classic and The Dragon being sold in ASDA’s and other stores across the region. They hope to bring out new flavours and even new ranges in the near future.
