The City is Your Playground


Liverpool in 2020 is a city that doesn’t have to sell itself.

A destination for fine culture, chic bars, award-winning eateries, food markets, big venues and even bigger football clubs, this is a city that lives and breathes on the edge.

Approached by the ambitious Town Hotels group in late 2019 to create a hotel brand with a difference for their exciting and fiercely independent new venue The Baltic Hotel. Situated in the heart of the city’s creative and digital district, the Baltic Triangle, the hotel will challenge the big global chains reflecting the city’s true personality.

Once 19th century warehouse for ale and rum the Baltic Hotel has now been painstakingly renovated to a beautiful place to stay, unwind and explore.

The brand concept is centred around energy and personality. Graphically we have selected shifting type and a juxtaposed palette of heritage and vibrant neon punch colours, reflecting both the traditional and the new. To complement these graphics we also felt that people should be at the heart of this identity. Interacting with the typography and brand elements highlight the importance of engagement and experience – qualities that are also true of Liverpool.

The hotel is planned to open late 2020.
